Current industry unemployment rate tops 45% in the metro area

Rising unemployment rates in the architecture and design industries has prompted CareerConnection’s Architecture+Design Group to take action by hosting a Professional Showcase on Thursday, November 5, 2009, 6:30pm - 8:30pm in the Decorative Center Dallas on Hi Line Drive, in the heart of the downtown design district.


A current estimate of the unemployment rate among DFW architecture and design professionals is a stagering 45%. The Architecture + Interior Design Professional Showcase will provide an opportunity for under-employed and “pre-employed” individuals seeking careers in these fields some FACE TIME with HIRING FIRMS and other professionals. Hosting showrooms will feature prominent industry leaders and green product lines.

Persons interested in attending the event should be ready for a “meet and greet” opportunity with top DFW architecture and interior design firms. A resume review booth will be open for interested jobseekers!

“Our industry has had a very tough year in 2009, but we are optimistic for 2010,” said Ernesto Miranda, Chair of the Leadership Committee of A+D Professional Showcase event “We are organizing this event to give a “shot in the arm” to the design industry for future employment opportunities.”
